'Larussis's Heartsong' is taking longer than I anticipated. It now tips the scales at 82,500 words (about 275 pages in book terms) and I haven't reached the climax yet. I am getting there, though. My original target of a September release has now gone by the board, sadly, but I am a believer in getting it right, even if it takes longer, rather than putting a work that has not been properly finished on sale and polishing it up afterwards. I estimate that there is still a month of writing ahead of me, followed by a further month of editing and proof-reading before it will be ready. My estimated release date is, therefore, now in time for Christmas.
My 'Avalind' books ('Usurper', 'A Sovereign's Honour', 'A New Queen Rises', 'The Ancient Realm', 'The Shattered Realms', 'The Power of Four Queens' and - soon - 'Larussi's Heartsong') are my biggest sellers and I know that there are readers waiting patiently for the latest instalment. My sincere apologies to all those people. Thank you for your support. I can assure you that the wait will have been worth it by the time the book goes on sale.
