Rutter's Resolution has now passed its final test and has been included in Smashwords Premium Catalogue, which means that it will be available directly from iBooks, Barnes & Noble, Kobo and Diesel as well as from Smashwords themselves. Owners of Palmtops, Sony e-Readers, and those who simply prefer to read the .rtf or Pdf editions on their computers can find suitable editions at Smashwords. There is also a Smashwords Kindle edition, which is available only from the Smashwords site. Most Kindle users buy from Amazon, which is where you will find the KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing) edition. This is textually identical to the Smashwords edition, but there are one or two cosmetic differences that were needed to comply with Smashwords' 'Meatgrinder' software requirements.
Should you prefer not to indulge in all this electrickery, the good old-fashioned paperback edition is also available from Amazon. Now is a very good time to buy one, of course, with Christmas just round the corner. Traditional paper books make excellent gifts for the simple reason that they can be gift wrapped. That is something that you cannot do with an ebook because it is just a datafile that you download to your display device of preference.

A brief note about the website. I have just checked its statistics and visits are up by 50%, which is very encouraging news. I have been promoting it a bit lately, so you can bet your bottom dollar that I will be doing more of that.
Well, Vigilante did not last long as a title. It's a good one, but somebody else has already claimed it. The new book is now called, The Secret Angels, and I have begun to write it. Whether the new title sees it through to publication remains to be seen, but it will certainly do for the time being. It begins just two days after Rutter's Resolution ended, on Christmas Day 1998.
Don't hold your breath. So far, it consists of about half a page of text, which includes a bit of dialogue, but much more is to follow - a great deal of which still remains to be sorted out in my head. Look for a publication date sometime between Easter and summer next year. In the meantime, get yourself a copy of Resolution and enjoy it. Cheers .
The paperback edition of Rutter's Resolution is now on sale at all of Amazon's stores worldwide. I previously wrote in this blog that I expected it to weigh in at 350 pages, but once all the formatting and front and back matter is taken into account, it emerges at a somewhat heftier 382 pages, which makes this my biggest book so far.
So, to sum up, Kindle and paperback editions of the book can be bought directly from Amazon. ePub, Kindle, Pdf, lrf, pdb, txt and Html editions can be bought directly from Smashwords. The ePub edition can be read on iPad, Nook, Kobo and Diesel devices. iPads, Android tablets, smartphones and computers can also be used to read the Kindle editions if they have the Kindle app installed. This is available, free of charge from Amazon.
The Smashwords edition is currently undergoing evaluation for inclusion in their Premium Catalogue. This process usually takes about a week. Assuming that it passes (it should), the book will included in the Premium Catalogue, which won't affect its price at all, but means that you will also be able to buy it from iBooks, Barnes & Noble, Kobo etc.
My next task is to begin work on the follow-up. Rutter's Resolution is a complete story, but it his also the first part of what will be at least a duology, or possibly a trilogy. Ideas are still a bit vague at the moment, so I cannot be more specific than that. Also there is no finalised title for the next book. I am provisionally going to call it Vigilante, which is a great title, but somebody else has already used it, so I will have to change it before publication. It will do as a working title until then. I have the opening combed out in my head as I write, and I know the general direction in which I want to take the narrative. All will become clearer in my head when I begin writing, which will be in a few minutes. Expect the next book some time in the Spring of 2016.
The Smashwords edition of Rutter's Resolution is now available to buy directly from the Smashwords website (www.smashwords.com).
This makes the book available to owners of iPads, Nooks, Kobos, Diesels, Palmtops and many more. It is currently undergoing valuation for inclusion in Smashwords' Premium Catalogue, which will also make it available directly from Apple, Barnes and Noble, Kobo and so forth.
Kindle owners are also able to buy it directly from Smashwords if they prefer not to buy it from Amazon (where the KDP edition is already on sale). In real terms, the differences between the two editions are very minor and purely cosmetic.
The paperback edition is currently undergoing evaluation and should be available for sale on Amazon within the next twenty-four hours.

The wait is over. Cuzzie recommended a few small changes, all of which have been beneficial to the text as it is, and in preparation for future books. 'Rutter's Resolution' is ready at last and went on sale at all of Amazon's Kindle stores earlier today. It has already clocked up its first sales and will attract reviews soon enough.
More than the usual number of alterations, none significant in itself, but cumulative in their effect, have resulted in a book that is nearly one thousand words longer than it was a week ago. I am very happy with the result. It is my biggest book so far and, I believe, one of my best. I hope you enjoy it.
Writer of Fantasy, thrillers, comedy - and anything else that takes my fancy.
