Just a brief update. You recall that I have just put my novels out on You Heart Books? There is a link to my vendor page on the Home Page of this site, but I discovered today that the link did not work. Apologies for that. This has now been fixed. For the record, the link is: http://youheartbooks.com/author/?vendor=david-waine
'Larussi's Heartsong' continues to gather momentum. It now tips the scales at just over 25,000 words, which means that it is roughly one quarter done. I am pleased with it as well. Gone is that feeling of, 'This needs redoing,' when it consisted of just one sentence. It c Progress will be a bit slower over the next few weeks, however, because it is the exam marking season and that will restrict my writing time for a while. All that is due to finish by early July, then it will be full steam ahead on the new book. Hopefully, everything will be wrapped up during September.
Although 'Larussi's Heartsong' follows on from my 'Queen's Heart' trilogy, it is not part of it. It is a stand-alone story involving some of the surviving characters from the trilogy. This is why it is to be classified as the Appendix to A Queen's Heart when finished. I had the idea for it while writing the trilogy's final part, 'The Power of Four Queens'. At the time, I envisaged a novella with a rather different tone from the six previous 'Avalind' books. As is always the case, what you envisage at the outset is never what you end up with. As things stand, it looks like 'Heartsong' will be a full length novel, but the tone will be new. Don't worry, fantasy fans. There will still be plenty of excitement.
As of last night, I now have seven of my books available on You Heart Books ( www.youheartbooks.com ). These comprise 'The Planning Officers' and the two fantasy trilogies: 'A King's Head' and 'A Queen's Heart'. I will be adding the Rutter books this week, which will put everything out except 'The Author's Manual', which is Kindle-only at the moment because it is specific to publishing on that machine. There again, you never know. I could expand that to include the likes of Smashwords and You Heart.

This is the announcement that I teased a day or two ago. I have just signed up for a new independent publishing organisation, called You Heart Books. They are very new - barely a month old, in fact - and they operate out of Ottawa in Canada. The venture is the brainchild of Daniel and Diane Beauregard, who, I assume, are related, but whether as husband and wife or brother and sister I do not yet know. My first three books are now live on the site (you can just see 'A Sovereign's Honour;' on the screenshot if you look closely) and I will be uploading a fourth, 'A New Queen Rises' today, which will make 'The Planning Officers' and the entire 'King's Head' trilogy available there.

Big development today. If you look back through the site, you will see that all the books now have 'Sample Pages' buttons. These are links to a secondary website, which I created today. This new site, www.davidwaineextracts.weebly.com (feel free to visit it if you wish), contains the opening ten pages or so of each of my books. By clicking on a Sample Pages button, a new window will open showing you the opening of that book. It works as if it were all in the same site, but it is actually two.
This new development will also feature prominently in another new development that I will be announcing in the next day or two. Watch this space.
'Relapse' is now on sale in all of Amazon's Kindle stores. This is the finalised cover, which, as you can see, is an improvement on the provisional effort of yesterday.
The paperback edition, plus the iBook, Kobo, Nook etc. editions will follow within the next few days.
The third Rutter book, 'Relapse' has arrived at last. It finally passed Cuzzie's eagle eye this evening - albeit not without receiving a few bruises that had to be ironed out before it was published. All is now completed, however, and it is undergoing review at Amazon. It should be on sale by the time that you read this.
Apologies about the cover picture. It isn't the best copy, but I should have a better one tomorrow. The actual cover is fine. Trust me.
Meanwhile, I am also pressing on with 'Larussi's Heartsong' and have advanced considerably beyond the one sentence that I mentioned in my last post. "Heartsong'
